A Little Celebration ...

I had a small celebration this last weekend. I hopefully took my last pill for lousy liver disease.

The pill .. which costs around £600 per pop .. was a very bitter pill to swallow when I started the treatment three months ago.. but in the later days.. it was the sweetest thing I ever swallowed.

Common side effects of the pill include fatigue ..insomnia ..headaches and mood swings. I never noticed any of them to any great extent. All I know that at the start of September when I started the treatment .. I could hardly walk into town for my shopping. A few weeks later I noticed energy returning and I started hill walking again. You may have seen those videos as proof of my recovery.

The miracles of modern medicine. It could have been liver transplant time if it was still diseased. So you can understand my small celebration.

So how did I celebrate ?

I washed the last pill into my stomach with a very tasty small glass of Jura Superstition whisky .. the first alcohol I have had in three months.

Then I put on my walking boots and clambered up Ben Vorlich.

I will spare you watching a video of me swallowing the pill .. but here is the hill walk video.

Wonderful views and you picked a beautiful day to celebrate. The nature was surely celebrating your visit! Your choice of music and lyrics by Loreena McKennitt, a Canadian musician, is very pleasant companion! Thank you!

Hi again Ian .. yup..it was a great day for the hills..and being able to go walking too. I'm hoping Douglas will find his motivation again for next year. I missed our adventures this year.

Hi again Leguma ..I am a fan of Loreena as you can guess as her music seems to go well with the walking videos.

Unfortunately ..although I can use her music in the videos now ..due to her copyright ..they don't play on all platforms. So if it doesn't play ..say on a mobile phone ..they do play on the PC and also my I Pad as I check them.

Hope this helps anyone having trouble watching the videos

Thanks again for commenting guys and also to everyone who reads or watches my stories

Hi Donny,
I was able to listen to the music on my Android mobile phone, but because of your photos I preferred to view your blog on my pc with a bigger screen more suitable for the Scottish landscape. Have just enjoyed listening and viewing on the dvd "Nights of Alhambra" by Loreena McKennitt, 2006. Perhaps needless to say, she's too a favourite of mine.
Looking forward to your next episode!
